What Am I Not Allowed to Carry in My Hand Luggage?

Published in Hand Luggage Restrictions 1 min read

The following items are generally not allowed to be carried in your hand luggage, according to typical security regulations:

  • all drinks, including water
  • liquid or semi-liquid foods, for example soup, jam, honey and syrups
  • cosmetics and toiletries, including creams, lotions, oils, perfumes, mascara and lip gloss
  • sprays, including shaving foam, hairspray and spray deodorants

In short, all liquids, aerosols, and gels (LAGs) in containers larger than 100ml (3.4 ounces) are prohibited from being carried in your hand luggage. These items must be placed in checked baggage or comply with the 3-1-1 rule (liquids in travel-sized containers that are 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) or less per item; all placed in one quart-sized, clear, plastic, zip-top bag; one bag per passenger).
