Aru is in the hospital's Acute Rehabilitation Unit (ARU) recovering from a disabling injury, illness, or disease. The ARU is designed to help patients regain their abilities and adapt to any new limitations they may have.
The Acute Rehabilitation Unit at UCI Health is a complete inpatient rehabilitation facility (IRF) program. This means Aru will receive specialized care tailored to help them regain skills and independence. This care can involve:
- Regaining abilities: Helping Aru recover lost functions.
- Adapting to limitations: Assisting Aru in adjusting to any new physical constraints.
