Characteristics of Downy Type I Cells

  • Size: Downey type I cells are slightly larger than normal lymphocytes.

  • Nucleus: They possess indented or bean-shaped nuclei.

  • Cytoplasm: They have reduced cytoplasm which often contains a few azurophilic granules and vacuoles.
