- In people assigned male at birth (AMAB): The testicles are the main source of testosterone production.
- In people assigned female at birth (AFAB): The ovaries produce testosterone, though in much smaller amounts compared to testicles. The adrenal glands also produce a small amount in both AMAB and AFAB individuals.
