Published in Human Anatomy 1 min read

The skin has three main layers:

  • Epidermis: The outermost layer, responsible for protection and acting as a barrier against the environment.
  • Dermis: The middle layer, containing blood vessels, nerves, hair follicles, and sweat glands.
  • Hypodermis: The innermost layer, composed mainly of fat and providing insulation and cushioning.
