Which organ works without blood?

Published in Human Anatomy 1 min read

The cornea, the transparent outer layer of the eye, is the only living tissue in the human body that doesn't receive direct blood supply. It gets its oxygen and nutrients from the surrounding air and the aqueous humor, a fluid that fills the front of the eye.

This unique characteristic allows the cornea to remain transparent and free of blood vessels, which would hinder light transmission and affect vision.
