What size is a human egg?

Published in Human Biology 1 min read

A human egg, or ovum, is one of the largest cells in the human body. However, it's still incredibly small, measuring approximately 0.12 mm in diameter. This means it's about the size of the period at the end of this sentence.

To put this in perspective, human eggs are about four times the size of skin cells and 20 times the size of sperm cells. While they are tiny, they are essential for reproduction, containing all the genetic material needed to create a new human being.
