Which organ does not sleep?

Published in Human Physiology 1 min read

The only organ that remains active even when you are asleep is the ear. While the rest of the body rests and recovers, the ear continues to function, collecting and processing sounds.

This fact has been confirmed by a recent study at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. Researchers found that even during sleep, our ears are constantly listening for potential threats or important stimuli. This helps us stay alert to our surroundings even while we are unconscious.
