Can I see in the dark?

Published in Human Vision 1 min read

No, you cannot see in complete darkness. Human eyes, like those of most animals, require at least some light to function. The amount of light needed varies depending on the individual and the specific situation, but even in low-light conditions, our eyes still rely on the presence of light to process visual information.

While some animals, like owls and cats, have adapted to see better in low-light conditions, humans do not possess this ability. Our eyes are primarily designed for daytime vision and become less effective as the amount of light decreases.

To see in the dark, we rely on artificial light sources like flashlights, lamps, and other forms of illumination.
