What are the three ICH regions?

Published in ICH Regions 1 min read

The three ICH (International Council for Harmonisation of Technical Requirements for Pharmaceuticals for Human Use) regions are:

  • Europe (EC)
  • United States (FDA)
  • Japan (MHLW/PMDA)

These regions represent major pharmaceutical markets and regulatory bodies that collaborate to harmonize technical requirements for pharmaceutical product registration. This harmonization aims to reduce duplication of clinical trials, minimize the use of animal testing, and streamline the global development and availability of new medicines.
