How do I download all photos from iCloud?

Published in iCloud Photos 2 mins read

You can download all photos from iCloud through the iCloud website. Here's how:

  1. Go to iCloud.com/photos in a web browser.
  2. Sign in with your Apple ID (iCloud account).
  3. Click "Select" in the top right corner.
  4. To select all photos, click "Select All". Alternatively, you can individually select the photos and videos you wish to download.
  5. Click the "More" button (it looks like three dots in a circle) - usually in the top right or bottom right corner.
  6. Select "Download."

Important Considerations:

  • Download Format: Your photos and videos may download as a .zip file. You'll need to extract the contents of the .zip file to access your photos and videos.
  • Large Downloads: If you have a large iCloud photo library, downloading all your photos may take a significant amount of time and consume a lot of bandwidth. Ensure you have a stable internet connection.
  • Original Formats: When you download, iCloud attempts to provide you with the most original format available. This might include HEIC photos or different video formats.
  • Alternative: If you are using iCloud Photos on a Mac, you can simply open the Photos app, select all the photos, and export them to a folder on your computer. This is often a faster method than downloading from the iCloud website.
  • Windows Users: Windows users can download iCloud for Windows which will allow them to access and download iCloud photos to their computer.
