Adding a border to an image in Paint 3D involves using the Shape tools and customizing their line properties. Here's how you can do it:
-
Open your Image in Paint 3D: Start by opening the image you want to modify in Paint 3D.
-
Insert a Shape:
- Click on the "Shapes" icon in the top menu.
- Choose a shape (rectangle, square, circle, etc.) that closely outlines the area you want to border. A rectangle is often the easiest.
-
Adjust the Shape's Size and Position:
- Carefully drag the corners of the shape until it is positioned around the image, creating the border you desire.
-
Customize the Border (Line) Properties:
- In the right-hand panel, ensure the "Line" option is toggled On.
- Choose a color for your border by clicking on the color selection box.
- Adjust the thickness (Weight) of the line to your liking. The higher the number, the thicker the border.
- You can also change the line style (Dashes), choosing between solid, dashed, dotted, etc.
-
Remove the Fill:
- If the shape is filled, set the "Fill" option to Off in the right-hand panel. This will leave only the border visible.
-
Final Adjustments (Optional):
- If you need to fine-tune the border's placement, you can use the arrow keys on your keyboard to nudge the shape into the perfect position.
-
Save Your Image: Once you're satisfied with the border, save the image. Go to Menu -> Save. Note: Paint 3D often saves as a .PNG by default, which is usually good for images.
