How Do I Process Multiple Images in Photoshop Elements?

Published in Image Editing 2 mins read

To process multiple images at once in Photoshop Elements, use the Process Multiple Files feature. Here's how:

  1. Open the Process Multiple Files Dialog: From the Photoshop Elements Editor, go to File > Process Multiple Files.

  2. Choose Your Source: In the "Process Files From" drop-down menu, select the source of your images:

    • Folder: Processes all compatible files within a folder you specify on your computer.
    • Import: Processes images directly from a connected digital camera or scanner. The device must be connected and properly configured on your system.
  3. Specify Source and Destination:

    • Source: If using "Folder", click the "Source" button to browse and select the folder containing the images you want to process. If using "Import," ensure your camera or scanner is connected and selected.

    • Destination: Choose a destination for the processed files:

      • Same as Source: Saves the processed images in the same folder as the original files. Be careful, as this could overwrite your originals if you make changes.
      • Select Folder: Allows you to specify a different folder for the processed images. This is the recommended option to avoid overwriting your original files.
  4. Set Processing Options: The "Rename Files" option provides for batch renaming which can be useful.

  5. Apply Actions: Use the 'Convert Files' section to select the desired format for converted files.

  6. Run the Process: Click "OK" to start processing your images. Photoshop Elements will then automatically process all the selected images according to the settings you defined.

By utilizing the "Process Multiple Files" feature, you can efficiently apply the same changes or operations to a large number of images at once, saving time and effort. Remember to choose your destination carefully to avoid accidentally overwriting your original files.
