To rotate an image by specific degrees in Paint, follow these steps:
- Open your image in Paint.
- Select the area you want to rotate. If you want to rotate the entire image, skip this step. Otherwise, use the "Select" tool (rectangular or free-form selection) to select the portion of the image you want to rotate.
- Click on the "Rotate" button in the "Image" group on the "Home" tab. This will open a dropdown menu with predefined rotation options.
- Choose a predefined rotation (90 degrees right, 90 degrees left, or 180 degrees). If the specific degree rotation you need isn't listed, proceed to the next step.
- For custom rotations, select "Rotate" -> "Flip or rotate". In newer versions of Paint or Paint 3D, look for an option that allows you to input the rotation angle directly. If your version doesn't have this feature, you may need to use a different image editing program.
- Enter the desired number of degrees.
- Click "OK" or "Rotate" to apply the rotation.
Note: Some older versions of Paint may not offer the ability to rotate by arbitrary degree values. In such cases, you'll be limited to the predefined rotation options. Paint 3D, which often comes pre-installed on newer Windows systems, may offer more advanced rotation features. If you need more precise control over rotations, consider using a more advanced image editing program like GIMP (free) or Adobe Photoshop.
