How to Invert Colors in Microsoft Paint?

Published in Image Editing 1 min read

To invert the colors in Microsoft Paint, you can use the following steps:

  1. Select the image area: Click the "Select" tool (usually a rectangle or free-form selection) in the "Image" group on the Home tab.
  2. Choose Selection Type: Typically, you'll want "Rectangular selection" unless you only want to invert colors in an irregularly shaped area.
  3. Select the Entire Image (or desired portion): Drag the selection box from the top-left corner to the bottom-right corner of the image (or the section you want to invert). This will select the whole image. Alternatively, you can use Ctrl+A to select the entire image.
  4. Invert Colors: Right-click inside the selected area. A context menu will appear. Choose "Invert color" from the menu. This will invert the colors of the selected area.

Now, the colors within your selection will be inverted. For example, black will become white, and vice-versa.
