Published in Image Manipulation 2 mins read

To rotate an image in Adobe Illustrator, you can use the Transform Each command. This method allows you to rotate one or more images simultaneously.

Using the Transform Each Command

Here's a step-by-step guide on how to rotate an image using the Transform Each command:

  1. Select the Images: First, choose all the images you wish to rotate in your Illustrator document. You can do this by clicking and dragging a selection box around the images, or by holding Shift and clicking individual images.
  2. Access the Transform Each Menu: Navigate to the menu bar at the top of your screen. Go to Object > Transform > Transform Each.
  3. Adjust Rotation Angle: A dialog box will appear, giving you various transformation options. Under the rotate section, input the desired angle of rotation in the angle field. Positive values will rotate the image clockwise while negative values will rotate it counter-clockwise.
  4. Other Options (Optional): In this dialog box, you can also adjust other transform settings such as scale, move, or reflect which is optional.
  5. Preview and Apply: Preview the rotation by selecting the "preview" option on the bottom-left corner to see how the images will look before confirming the action. Once satisfied with the rotation, click OK to apply the rotation to your selected image(s).

Additional Tips:

  • You can also rotate images using the rotate tool in the tool panel. Select the image then click the rotate tool and drag to rotate the image.
  • To precisely rotate an image, double-click on the rotate tool to bring up the same transform box as the transform each command.
  • The Transform Each option is especially useful when you want to rotate multiple images by the same angle simultaneously, while maintaining their individual positioning.

By following these steps, you can effectively rotate images in Adobe Illustrator using the Transform Each command and the rotate tool, and you can rotate them by any desired angle accurately.
