To edit a group in InDesign, you have two primary methods as mentioned in the reference: double-click on the group or navigate through the menus by choosing Object > Edit > Edit Group.
Methods to Edit a Group
Editing a group allows you to modify the objects contained within it without ungrouping them completely. Here are the simple steps:
- Double-Click: The quickest way is to simply double-click directly on the group you want to edit on your page.
- Menu Command: Alternatively, select the group first, and then go to the top menu bar and choose Object > Edit > Edit Group.
Once you initiate the editing process using either method, InDesign provides a way to work on the individual elements inside the group. This temporary edit mode allows you to select and modify single objects or multiple objects within that specific group.
Note: To select a single object within a group without entering the edit mode, you can hold down Ctrl (Windows) or Command (Mac) and click on the object.
