How do you edit two Reels on Instagram?

Published in Instagram Reels 2 mins read

Unfortunately, Instagram doesn't directly allow you to "edit two Reels" together after they've been created and saved separately. Instead, you need to combine the video clips during the Reel creation process. You can effectively combine two Reels by adding video clips from your camera roll during the creation phase.

Here's how you can combine clips from your camera roll to create a Reel that appears to be "editing two Reels together":

  1. Start a New Reel: Open Instagram and tap the "+" icon, then select "Reel."

  2. Add Your First Video Clip: Tap the camera roll icon (usually a square at the bottom-left corner) to access your phone's media. Select the first video clip you want to use for your Reel.

  3. Add Your Second (and Subsequent) Video Clips: After adding the first clip, tap the camera roll icon again to add the second video clip. You can continue adding clips in this way to combine multiple videos into a single Reel.

  4. Editing within the Reel Creation Interface: Instagram offers various editing tools during the Reel creation process. You can trim the length of each clip, add music, text, stickers, and effects to seamlessly transition between clips.

  5. Preview and Post: Once you've added and edited all your desired clips, preview the entire Reel to ensure it flows as you intend. Then, add a caption and any relevant hashtags before posting.

Essentially, the idea is to select multiple videos from your camera roll when creating a reel. Instagram then allows you to trim and edit these clips together within the reel creation interface, giving you the effect of "editing two reels" but it's actually combining clips from your library.
