To add Face ID to iPad apps, enabling you to unlock your iPad, authorize payments, automatically fill in passwords, and open password-protected apps, follow these steps:
-
Open Settings: On your iPad, locate and open the "Settings" app.
-
Navigate to Face ID & Passcode: Scroll down within the Settings menu until you find "Face ID & Passcode" and tap it.
-
Enter Your Passcode: You may be prompted to enter your iPad's passcode to proceed.
-
Enable Face ID for Apps: Under the "Use Face ID For" section, you'll see a list of options. Turn on the toggle switch next to any of these options:
- iPad Unlock: This allows you to unlock your iPad using Face ID.
- Apple Pay: This lets you authorize Apple Pay transactions with Face ID.
- Password Autofill: This enables Face ID to automatically fill in saved passwords in apps and websites.
- Other Apps: Apps that support Face ID will also be listed here once they are installed and have requested access to Face ID. Make sure the toggle is on for any app you want to use Face ID with.
Troubleshooting:
- Face ID Not Working: If Face ID isn't working, make sure your face isn't obstructed (e.g., by a mask). Also, ensure your iPad's TrueDepth camera isn't blocked.
- App Not Supporting Face ID: Some apps may not yet support Face ID. Check the app's settings to see if Face ID authentication is available. You may need to update the app to the latest version.
- Face ID Setup Issues: If you haven't set up Face ID yet, you'll need to do so first within the Face ID & Passcode settings.
