How do I stop iPad turning off?

Published in iPad Usage 2 mins read

You can stop your iPad from automatically turning off by adjusting the Auto-Lock setting. Here's how:

Steps to Disable Auto-Lock on your iPad:

  1. Unlock Your iPad: Ensure your iPad is unlocked and you're on the home screen.
  2. Open Settings: Locate and tap the "Settings" app (the grey gear icon).
  3. Access Display & Brightness Settings: Scroll down in the Settings menu and tap on "Display & Brightness."
  4. Find the Auto-Lock Option: In the Display & Brightness settings, find and tap on "Auto-Lock."
  5. Select Never: You'll see a list of time options, such as 30 seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes, etc. Select "Never." This will prevent your iPad from automatically turning off its screen.
  6. Exit Settings: Simply close the Settings app; your changes are automatically saved.

Now, your iPad's screen will remain on until you manually turn it off by pressing the power button. Keep in mind that leaving your screen on continuously will drain the battery more quickly.

Important Consideration:

  • Battery Life: Setting Auto-Lock to "Never" significantly impacts battery life. Be mindful of this and consider plugging in your iPad if you plan to use it for extended periods with the screen constantly on.
