How do I change my iPhone Screen Time passcode?

Published in iPhone Security 2 mins read

To change your iPhone's Screen Time passcode, follow these steps:

  1. Open Settings: Locate and tap the "Settings" app on your iPhone.

  2. Navigate to Screen Time: Scroll down and tap on "Screen Time."

  3. Change Screen Time Passcode: If you have a Screen Time passcode set, scroll down to find "Change Screen Time Passcode" and tap it.

  4. Choose Change or Turn Off: You'll be presented with two options: "Change Screen Time Passcode" or "Turn Off Screen Time Passcode." If you want to change it, tap "Change Screen Time Passcode."

  5. Enter Current Passcode: You will be prompted to enter your current Screen Time passcode.

  6. Set New Passcode: Enter the new Screen Time passcode you want to use. You'll need to enter it twice to confirm it.

Forgot Passcode?

If you've forgotten your Screen Time passcode:

  • If you have an Apple ID associated with Screen Time (set up in iOS 13.4 and later), you can tap "Forgot Passcode?" on the "Change Screen Time Passcode" screen. You'll then be able to reset it using your Apple ID credentials.

  • If you don't have an Apple ID associated, or if you can't remember the Apple ID password either, you may need to restore your iPhone to factory settings. Note: Restoring from a backup may restore the Screen Time passcode as well, so you might need to set up the iPhone as new. This will erase all data, so proceed with caution and only if you're comfortable with data loss.
