How tall was Hazrat Adam?

Published in Islamic Beliefs 1 min read

According to Islamic tradition, Hazrat Adam (peace be upon him) was created by Allah to be 60 cubits tall.

This information is derived from the following hadith:

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "Allah created Adam, making him 60 cubits tall. (Sahih al-Bukhari, Book 60, Hadith 3109)

A cubit is an ancient unit of length, approximately equal to the length of the forearm from the elbow to the tip of the middle finger. While the exact length of a cubit can vary, a common estimate is around 1.5 to 2 feet (approximately 45 to 60 centimeters).

Therefore, based on this tradition, Hazrat Adam's height would have been significantly taller than modern humans, estimated to be somewhere between 90 and 120 feet (approximately 27 to 37 meters). This highlights the extraordinary nature of Adam's creation. It is important to note that this is a religious belief and not a scientific claim.
