Prophet Muhammad was preparing for prayer one day after hearing the adhan (call to prayer). As he went to put on his robe, he found Muezza sleeping peacefully on one of the sleeves. Rather than disturb his beloved cat, Prophet Muhammad carefully cut off the sleeve of his robe, allowing Muezza to continue sleeping undisturbed. Upon his return, Muezza awoke and rubbed against him, and the Prophet Muhammad is said to have stroked her three times as a blessing.
