Is it haram to sleep without a bra?

Published in Islamic Modesty 1 min read

It is not permissible in Islam to sleep with no clothes on that would cover your 'awrah, whether you are sleeping with or without your spouse. This means that even in the privacy of your own home, it is not allowed to sleep without covering your 'awrah, which includes your chest. While a bra is not specifically mentioned in Islamic texts, it is considered an acceptable way to cover the chest area.

While some may argue that sleeping without a bra allows the body to breathe and regulate its temperature naturally, Islam emphasizes the importance of modesty and covering one's 'awrah, even in private. It is essential to remember that jinn and demons are always around us, and they are attracted to uncovered 'awrah.

Therefore, it is advisable to wear clothing that covers your 'awrah, including a bra, even while sleeping.
