Reciting specific Surahs is highly recommended for a dying person (someone in the state of sakarat al-mawt). Several Surahs and verses are traditionally recited to ease the passing and provide comfort. These include:
- Surah Yaseen: This Surah is most commonly recommended due to its numerous benefits and blessings.
- Surah Saffaat: Another Surah often recited to offer ease and blessings.
- Surah Ahzaab: Its recitation is also suggested for the dying person.
- Ayatul Kursi (Verse 255 of Surah Al-Baqarah): This verse holds immense significance and blessings.
- Verse 54 of Surah Al-A'raaf: This verse is also part of the recommended recitation.
- The Last Three Verses of Surah Al-Baqarah (Verses 284-286): These verses provide comfort and protection.
In addition to reciting these Surahs and verses, making du'a (supplication), particularly Dua Adeela, is also encouraged. If the dying person is experiencing difficulty, it is recommended to move them to the place where they typically pray. This environment is believed to provide comfort and spiritual solace.
