Cracking your knees is generally not bad for you unless it's accompanied by pain or swelling.

  • Swelling: Swelling around the knee joint along with cracking could also indicate an injury or inflammation.
  • Locking or Catching: If your knee locks up or catches when you crack it, consult a doctor.
