How Do You Use Dryer Sachets?

Published in Laundry Tips 2 mins read

Dryer sachets, often referred to as dryer sheets, are incredibly simple to use: you drop a new sachet (or sheet) on top of your wet clothes inside the dryer before you start the drying cycle.

Here's a breakdown of how to effectively use dryer sachets:

  • Placement: Place the sachet directly on top of the load of wet clothes inside the dryer drum. This ensures even distribution of the scent and softening agents.

  • Quantity: Generally, one sachet is sufficient for a regular load. However, for larger loads or if you desire extra softness and fragrance, you can use two sachets.

  • Timing: Add the sachet at the beginning of the drying cycle. They are designed to release their fragrance and softening agents as the dryer heats up.

  • Disposal: After the drying cycle is complete, discard the used sachet. They are typically not reusable.

Beyond just freshening and softening laundry, dryer sachets have other uses:

  • Freshening drawers and closets: Place a sachet in drawers or closets to keep clothes smelling fresh.
  • Reducing static cling: Rub a sachet over clothing to reduce static cling.
  • Freshening luggage: Place a sachet in luggage to keep it smelling clean.
