The amount of water needed to fill a lead-acid battery depends on the type of battery and its charge level.

Initially: Add just enough water to cover the plates. Then charge the batteries.

For fully charged standard deep-cycle batteries: Add water to a level of 1/8” (3 mm) below the bottom of the vent well.

For fully charged Plus Series™ batteries: Add water to the maximum water level indicator.
