Colored lights are made by using materials that emit specific wavelengths of light, which our eyes perceive as different colors.

The color of light is determined by its wavelength. Each wavelength corresponds to a different hue. For example, shorter wavelengths are perceived as blue or violet, while longer wavelengths are seen as red or orange.

Methods of Creating Colored Light

  • Gas Discharge Lamps: These lamps contain gases that emit light of specific colors when an electrical current passes through them. Neon signs are a classic example, where different gases produce different colors.
