Installing Adobe Camera Raw profiles in Lightroom is done through Lightroom itself, not as a separate installation. Here's how:
-
Launch Lightroom. Start by opening your Adobe Lightroom application.
-
Navigate to the Develop Tab. In Lightroom, switch to the "Develop" module, typically located in the top right corner.
-
Open the Profile Browser. In the Develop module, locate the "Basic" panel. Within the Basic panel (or sometimes under "Color" depending on your version), you should see a "Profile" dropdown menu. Click this dropdown.
-
Access the Import Option. At the top of the Profile panel, click the three dots (ellipsis) icon or the "+" icon (depending on your Lightroom version) and select "Import Profiles..."
-
Locate and Select the Profiles. Navigate to the folder containing your Camera Raw profiles (often in a location such as "Lightroom 7.3 and Adobe Camera Raw 10.3 (April 2018 Update) and LATER"). Select the
.xmp
files (or.dcp
files for older versions) that you want to install. -
Import the Profiles. Click "Import." Lightroom will then import the selected profiles.
-
Repeat if Necessary. Repeat steps 4-6 to install all the profiles you desire.
After completing these steps, the imported Adobe Camera Raw profiles will be available in the Profile Browser for you to use in your Lightroom editing workflow. They will appear in the Profile dropdown menu within their respective groups (e.g., "Color Profiles," "Creative Profiles").
