How are Master Locks Measured?

Published in Locks & Security 1 min read

Master Locks are measured based on their shackle length, specifically the distance from the top of the lock body to the inside of the shackle when it's in the open position. This measurement determines how much space the lock can secure.

Essentially, the shackle length dictates how far the U-shaped bar (the shackle) can reach to connect through the items you're locking together. A longer shackle allows you to secure objects that are further apart or have larger diameters. Master Lock offers a variety of shackle lengths to suit different needs.

Therefore, when you're looking at the dimensions of a Master Lock, pay attention to the shackle length to ensure it's adequate for your intended use.
