Is XYY Male or Female?

Published in Male Genetics 1 min read

XYY is a genetic condition found in males only.

XYY syndrome, also known as Jacobs syndrome, is a rare chromosomal disorder that affects males. It is caused by the presence of an extra Y chromosome. Although it is a male-specific condition, the extra Y chromosome can lead to certain physical characteristics and disabilities in males.

The presence of a Y chromosome denotes male sex. The X chromosome is not a "female" chromosome and is present in everyone.
