For a normal delivery, a pregnant woman should ideally maintain a hemoglobin (Hb) level between 11 g/dL and 16 g/dL.
While there isn't a single "required" number, maintaining a healthy Hb level throughout pregnancy is crucial. The ideal range differs slightly between trimesters:
- First and Third Trimesters: Hemoglobin levels should be above 11 g/dL.
- Second Trimester: Hemoglobin levels should ideally be above 10.5 g/dL.
Lower hemoglobin levels (anemia) can lead to complications during pregnancy and delivery, while excessively high levels can also pose risks. Therefore, regular monitoring and management of Hb levels are important for a healthy pregnancy and delivery.
