Albinism is often diagnosed at birth as it's usually evident from a baby's appearance. If a doctor observes signs of albinism, genetic testing can confirm the diagnosis. However, some types of albinism may not be diagnosed until later in childhood, potentially around the age of three to four months when nystagmus (involuntary eye movements) develops.
