A vaginal ultrasound typically takes around 15 minutes to complete.
During the procedure:
- The sonographer may move the probe around to get different views.
- While it might feel uncomfortable, it shouldn't be painful. Let the sonographer know if you experience pain.
- In some cases, you may be able to insert the probe yourself, similar to inserting a tampon.
