What is Tandak Injection Used For?

Published in Medications 1 min read

Tandak injection is used for the treatment of various types of bacterial infections.

Tandak injection (1.5g powder) contains a combination of Ceftriaxone (1000mg) and Sulbactam (500mg). This co-formulation works by preventing the growth and spread of bacteria, effectively combating the infection. Ceftriaxone is a cephalosporin antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, while Sulbactam is a beta-lactamase inhibitor. Beta-lactamase is an enzyme produced by some bacteria that can inactivate certain antibiotics (like Ceftriaxone), so Sulbactam helps to protect Ceftriaxone and enhance its effectiveness.

In essence, Tandak is prescribed to fight bacterial infections by stopping the microorganisms from growing and spreading.
