What is a Period Egg?

Published in Menstrual Cycle 1 min read

The term "period egg" is not a commonly used medical or scientific term. It is likely a misunderstanding or a misinterpretation of the concept of "ovulation," which is the release of an egg from a woman's ovary.

During a woman's menstrual cycle, one egg develops and is released each month. This process is called ovulation and occurs around day 14 of a typical 28-day cycle. This egg is the only one available for fertilization during that cycle.

If the egg is not fertilized, it breaks down and is shed along with the uterine lining during menstruation.

It's important to note that it is possible to get pregnant even during your period because ovulation can occur before, during, or after your period.
