To clear the "Recently closed" history in Microsoft Edge, you need to clear your browsing history. Here's how:

Steps to Clear Browsing History (Including Recently Closed):

  1. Open Microsoft Edge.

  2. Access the Clear Browsing Data settings: You can do this in one of two ways:

    • Type in the address bar: Type edge://settings/clearBrowserData and press Enter. This is the fastest method.
    • Navigate through the settings:
      • Click the three dots (ellipsis) in the upper-right corner of the Edge window.
      • Select Settings.
      • In the Settings menu, find and click on Privacy, search, and services.
      • Under the "Clear browsing data" section, click Choose what to clear.
  3. Select what you want to clear: In the "Clear browsing data" window, you'll see several options. To clear your "Recently closed" history, you need to ensure that Browsing history is selected. You can also choose to clear other data like cookies, cached images and files, passwords, etc.

  4. Choose a time range: Select the time range for which you want to clear the data. Options include:

    • Last hour
    • Last 24 hours
    • Last 7 days
    • Last 4 weeks
    • All time

To completely clear your "Recently closed" history, select All time.

  5. Click "Clear now": Once you've selected the desired options and time range, click the Clear now button.

After completing these steps, your browsing history, including the "Recently closed" entries, will be deleted. The "Recently closed" list will be empty.
