How do I change the language on my Edge new tab?

Published in Microsoft Edge Language 2 mins read

To change the language used by the new tab page in Microsoft Edge, you need to adjust the browser's overall language settings. Here's how:

  1. Open Microsoft Edge.

  2. Go to Settings and more. This is usually represented by three horizontal dots (...) in the top-right corner of the browser window.

  3. Select "Settings" from the dropdown menu.

  4. Click on "Languages" in the left-hand sidebar of the Settings menu (you may need to scroll down to find it).

  5. Choose your preferred language from the "Preferred languages" section. You can add a language by clicking "Add languages". If your desired language isn't already listed, add it, and then move it to the top of the list to prioritize it.

  6. Restart Edge. In some cases, you may need to restart the browser for the changes to fully take effect on the new tab page. Close all Edge windows and reopen the browser.

Edge typically defaults to the language used by your operating system. By changing the "Preferred languages" settings within Edge, you are essentially overriding the system default for the browser, including the new tab page.
