How Do I Add a Shadow to an Image in Outlook?

Published in Microsoft Outlook 1 min read

To add a shadow to an image in Outlook, follow these steps:

  1. Select the Picture: Click on the picture, AutoShape, WordArt, or text box to which you want to add a shadow. This activates the formatting options.

  2. Access Format Tab: Once selected, a "Format" tab will appear in the Outlook ribbon at the top of the screen. Click on this tab.

  3. Choose Shadow Effect: Within the Format tab, look for either "Text Effects" (if you've selected WordArt or a text box) or "Shape Effects" (if you've selected a picture or AutoShape). Click on the appropriate option, then select "Shadow."

  4. Select Shadow Style: A dropdown menu will appear displaying various shadow styles. Click on the shadow style you want to apply to your image. If you want to remove a shadow, choose "No Shadow."

That's it! You've now successfully added (or removed) a shadow from your image in Outlook.
