How Do I Get Outlook Links to Open in Edge Not Chrome?

Published in Microsoft Outlook 1 min read

To make Outlook links open in Microsoft Edge instead of Google Chrome, change your preferred browser setting within Outlook itself. Here's how:

  1. Open Outlook.

  2. Go to Account Information/Options: In the lower-left corner of the Outlook window, select "Options." (You might need to go to "File" then "Options" depending on your version of Outlook).

  3. Navigate to Advanced Settings: In the "Outlook Options" window that pops up, choose the "Advanced" tab on the left-hand side.

  4. Find Link Handling: Scroll down within the "Advanced" settings until you locate the "Link Handling" section.

  5. Select Edge as Preferred Browser: Use the drop-down list within "Link Handling" to select "Microsoft Edge" as your preferred browser for opening links.

  6. Click "OK": Click the "OK" button to save your changes and close the "Outlook Options" window.

Now, any links you click on in Outlook should open in Microsoft Edge. This works even if Chrome is set as your default browser at the operating system level.
