How Do I Export a Microsoft Project?

Published in Microsoft Project 1 min read

To export a Microsoft Project plan, you can typically export it to Excel directly from Project Web App. Here's how:

  1. Navigate to the Project Center: On the Quick Launch, click Projects. This takes you to the Project Center, a central location for managing projects.

  2. Select the Project: In the list of projects displayed in the Project Center, click the name of the specific project you want to export. This opens the project details.

  3. Export to Excel: On the Options tab, within the Share group, locate and click the Export to Excel option. This initiates the export process. This will typically export the project data including tasks, resources, and assignments.

Keep in mind that the availability and specific wording of these options may slightly vary depending on your version of Microsoft Project or Project Web App. The exported Excel file will contain the project information formatted for easy analysis and reporting.
