How to Change Video Background in Teams?

To change your video background in Microsoft Teams, follow these steps before or during a meeting.

Changing Your Background Before a Meeting

1. Go to your Teams Calendar.
2. Select the meeting you want to join and tap Join.
3. On the pre-join screen, find and tap Effects and avatars. (Sometimes labeled as simply "Video effects.")
4. Choose your background:
   • Tap Blur to blur your current background.
   • Select a pre-loaded Teams background to use.
   • Upload your own image by selecting the "+" icon (upload custom background option).
5. Tap Done to save your selection.

Changing Your Background During a Meeting

1. During the meeting, click on More actions (usually represented by three dots "...").
2. Select Effects and avatars (or "Show background effects").
3. A panel will open on the right side of your screen.
4. From here, you can Blur your background, choose a pre-set Teams background, or upload your own image by clicking the Add new button or "+" icon.
5. Click Apply to save your changes.

Keep in mind that applying a custom background might slightly impact your device's performance.
