The biggest MRI machine, in terms of magnet size, is exemplified by the Iseult project. It has a massive magnet with the following dimensions:
- Weight: 132 tons
- Length: 5 meters
- External Diameter: 5 meters
- Internal Diameter: 90 cm (to accommodate a whole human body)
This MRI machine achieves a nominal magnetic field of 11.7 teslas, significantly more powerful than standard hospital MRIs.
