The strongest muscle in the human body, based on the amount of pressure it can exert, is the masseter muscle, also known as your jaw muscle. Located near the back of your jaw, this thick cheek muscle is responsible for opening and closing your mouth when you chew.
While the tongue is often mistakenly believed to be the strongest muscle, it's actually a group of muscles working together. Similarly, the heart is a powerful muscle but doesn't generate the most pressure.
