How was Thor born?

Published in Mythology 1 min read

Thor was born when Odin created a cave in Norway for the goddess Jord (also known as Earth), who then gave birth to him.

Odin, the Allfather, sought a powerful heir. He conceived Thor with Jord, the embodiment of the Earth itself. According to the references, Odin created a special cave in Norway for Jord to give birth. After Thor was weaned, Odin brought him to Asgard to be raised, and Frigga, Odin's wife, acted as his mother from then on. Thus, Thor's parentage is a blend of divine power and earthly strength, explaining his unique abilities and connection to both Asgard and Midgard (Earth).
