The country flag 🇬🇷 represents Greece.
Greece, officially the Hellenic Republic, is a country located in Southeastern Europe. Its flag features nine horizontal stripes, alternating blue and white. In the upper hoist-side corner, there is a blue square containing a white cross, which symbolizes Greek Orthodoxy, the established religion of the country. The blue and white colors are often said to represent the blue of the Aegean Sea and the white of the sea foam. The exact origin and meaning of the nine stripes are debated, but a popular theory is that they represent the nine syllables of the phrase "Ελευθερία ή Θάνατος" ("Eleftheria i Thanatos"), meaning "Freedom or Death", the Greek motto during the Greek War of Independence.
