You can easily transform regular paper into origami paper by cutting a square from a rectangular sheet.
Here's how to do it:
- Take your regular rectangular sheet of paper (like A4).
- Fold one corner of the paper over to the opposite side, creating a triangle. Ensure the edges line up perfectly to form a sharp crease. This aligns one short edge of the paper with a long edge.
- You will now have a triangle and a rectangular strip of paper remaining.
- Cut or tear off the remaining rectangular strip. If you want a very precise square, use scissors and optionally trace a line with a pencil before cutting.
- Unfold the triangle. The resulting shape is a square piece of paper, ready for origami!
