AC joint repair is a surgical procedure to correct a severe separation injury of the acromioclavicular (AC) joint in your shoulder. This joint is where your clavicle (collarbone) meets your scapula (shoulder blade). In a severe AC joint separation, the ligaments that normally hold these bones together are torn, leading to instability and pain.
