To move a text box in Paint.net, you need to do so before the text is committed to the canvas. Here's how:
- Select the Text Tool: Ensure you have the text tool selected from the Tools panel.
- Add Your Text: Type your text on the canvas.
- Locate the Move Icon: While the text is still editable (before you deselect it or start a new action), look for the pulsing Move Icon. This icon looks like four arrows pointing outwards from a square. It's typically located near the text box.
- Click and Drag: Use either the left or right mouse button to click and drag the Move Icon to reposition the text box wherever you want it on the canvas.
- Finalize the Position: Once you're happy with the placement, you can commit the text by deselecting it (e.g., by clicking on another tool or starting a new action). After this point, the text will be rasterized, and you won't be able to move it as a text box anymore. You'll need to use selection tools and move the pixels instead.
Once the text is rasterized (no longer editable as a text box), you will need to use the move tool or selection tools to move the pixels.
